Martin has been signing since 1999 and holds a UCLAN / SLI Post Graduate Diploma in BSL / English Interpreting. He is registered with the CACDP, Independent Registration Panel as a Member of the Register of BSL / English Interpreters (MRSLI) and is a full Member of Association of Sign Language Interpreters (MASLI); for which he is the London and South East Regional Chair, (ASLI). Along side his work as a Community Interpreter, Martin's work also involves Communication Support, translation and Interpreting in rehearsals, workshops and for performances. This includes; rehearsals for 'The Irish Giant' (New Breed Theatre Co., Manchester), Summer Workshop (Half Moon Young People's Theatre, London), performance of 'Breast Strokes' (Stella Duffy at BAC, London), Development of 'Bent' (Graeae Theatre Co, London), performances and workshops at The Big Youth Theatre Festival 05,06 and 07 (National Association of Youth Theatres, Epping Forest ), rehearsals for 'Listening Eyes' (Green Candle Theatre Co, London), performance of 'The Ratchatcher of Hamelin' (BAC, London), performance of 'Low Life' (Blind Summit Theatre / LIMF at BAC, London), performance of 'Conquest to the South Pole' (Theatre Resource, Essex), 'Igloo Hullabaloo' workshop programme and 'Icicle Bicycle' workshop programme(Half Moon Young People's Theatre), performance of 'Rapunzel' (Kneehigh Theatre Co. and BAC, London), ITV1's new drama series 'Talk to Me', 'Sensory Journeys' an installation workshop and the Summer University workshop (Half Moon Young People's Theatre, London), tour with Blind Summit Theatre's performance of 'Low Life' (Tobacco Factory, Bristol and The Unity Theatre, Liverpool, 'Raising The Game' a workshop programme (National Association of Youth Theatres) and most recently a performance of 'The Masque of the Red Death' (BAC, London). In addition to this, his work has also included; BBC Television Centre, Greenwich Maritime Museum, Independent Theatre Council and for Oak Lodge Deaf School, 16 plus - Deaf First. Martin enjoys watching films, camping and the outdoors, cooking and his favourite TV programme is Most Haunted.
