Our workshops are created with a particular age group in mind, but most can be tailor-made to suit your group’s needs. And to take the hassle out of the process - the workshop leader comes to you!
2 hour workshops for 14-19 year-olds (Key stage 4+)

Contemporary Theatre workshopsContemporary Theatre
Examine Contemporary Theatre scripts written for young actors. Create your own piece of contemporary theatre about issues that are relevant to young people today. Can be adapted to suit any issue (EG Drugs, violence, teenage pregnancy etc.)
Techniques: Characterisation, forum theatre, group work, informal performance

Devising
Explore different ways of creating drama using stimuli and styles of presentation. Stimuli focus on career paths and decision making.
Techniques: improvisation, group work, presentation styles (i.e. narration), informal performance

Pantomime WorkshopsPantomime Workshops (for all ages)

Dress up, create and perform your own version of this year’s panto: Dick Whittington. Includes fun drama activities to develop your knowledge of pantomime as a theatrical style. Can be adapted to your chosen pantomime.

Techniques: characterisation, improvisation, costumes, informal performance

Producing Theatre Course (Recommended for ages 14+)

Participants examine the role of a producing theatre and learn the skills and disciplines needed to create their own Theatre Company.

Workshops are provided in acting, devising, design, stage management and technical theatre and a workshop leader assists the participants in developing their first production for performance on the Queen’s main stage.

You will also receive a backstage tour and complimentary tickets to Queen’s Theatre main house performances for the length of the course.

Teacher Training

Ideal for a staff inset day and great for teachers who are keen to try drama activities with their students and want to develop their skills in this area. Sessions are tailormade to suit your needs. Techniques: basic rules for the drama classroom, games and activities to explore texts and themes, storytelling, informal performance.
