Jump Start

Evenings from 5.30pm to 7.00pm, ages 14-19
Our youth dance group, Jump Start is dedicated to learning and developing Street dance techniques and preparing work for performance. Participants also learn how to choreograph their own work.
They work with their choreographer to fuse Street dance with a diverse range of dance styles and create energetic dance pieces to showcase at the theatre for family and friends.
JUMP START also headline First Feat, a Youth Dance Platform for East London and Essex, held at the Queen's and prepare work for performances at other venues and events.

The Queen’s Youth Theatre programme and Jump Start dance group both participate in the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Programme, a scheme that recognises the effort of young people in East London and Essex. Every month, a participant is selected to receive an Achievement Award. The winner is given an Achievement Award Certificate and money to spend on the group. |
