Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch pays tribute to much-loved team member Mark Griffiths
Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch is deeply saddened to share the news of the sudden death of our much-loved friend and colleague, Mark Griffiths, aged 34.
Mark was a highly respected member of our team and the local artist community. He joined Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch in October 2022 and quickly became known for his warmth, generosity and unwavering dedication. He supported staff, visiting artists and audiences with exceptional care. His kindness and humour touched countless people across the theatre community, and his loss is felt profoundly by everyone at Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch.
We wish to share our heartfelt condolences with all those who knew Mark, and extend our love and thoughts to his family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time. Mark leaves a huge hole within the organisation, which continues to process the shock of this deep tragedy. To honour his memory, a seat within our auditorium will be dedicated to Mark. This tribute reflects how much he meant to our organisation and how deeply we will continue to hold him in our hearts.
In consultation with Mark’s family, the Theatre will also host a memory book beside the Box Office in our public foyer until mid-January, offering a place to write tributes, messages or reflections. We know Mark impacted many lives within the local community, and we encourage all who knew him, however connected, to visit the Theatre over the coming weeks and share their stories and memories.
