Sophia wins our Design A Dame 2026 competition!
Over the summer, local children were challenged to design a spectacular finale costume for Nanny Molly Coddle in this year’s panto, Robin Hood.
Sophia’s winning design features an archery-target headdress, peacock feathers and an outrageous rainbow of colours.
As well as seeing her creation brought to life, Sophia has won a behind-the-scenes theatre experience, tickets to our Opening Night celebration and a festive pantomime goodie bag.
Director Kash Arshad said: “It was so much fun going through all the brilliant, sparkly, glittery submissions for our Design a Dame competition. The imagination and creativity of the young people of Hornchurch is just amazing.
“This has been one of my favourite parts of the process of bringing Robin Hood to life. To see this kind of direct engagement with the young people who are not only our next generation of designers, artists and creatives, but audiences too, is really inspiring.”
Robin Hood runs from 18 Nov to 2 Jan, with a local twist on the classic tale set in the Forest of Havering.
The production is written by Kate Lovell and James Watson, with original music and lyrics by Andrew Linham and direction by Kash Arshad.
