Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch launches a call-out for its revamped Young Changemakers Programme

The Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch is launching a call out for its newly revamped Young Changemakers programme. This programme is designed to make sure that young people’s views inform the way the organisation is run – from advising on communications, fundraising and strategy, to acting as ambassadors at events. A pilot programme was launched in January 2019, with feedback from the participants contributing to the relaunch. The Young Changemakers will play a vital role in ensuring the Theatre’s commitment to engaging young people, and creating future generations of young theatre-goers. They will be a representative for young people, and act as an advocate for the Theatre in their own communities. Across three terms they will work with industry professionals from all departments of the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch to gain skills and knowledge about working with young people and the day to day running of a theatre. There will also be a variety of practical tasks where they will work as a group to create activities and events for young people with the aim of increasing their engagement with the theatre. Interviews for places on the programme will take place the evening of 6th November. If you are aged between 18 and 25, live in Outer East London or Essex and would like to be involved in the Young Changemakers programme, please submit a 250 word application giving us information about yourself and why you think you would be suited to the role to mirandaw@queens-theatre.co.uk.
