Join expert forensics lecturer Jennifer Rees to explore one of Forensic Psychology’s most troubling topics.
During this talk, you will discover how serial killers are classified. What are the differences between lust killers like the BTK (Bind, Torture, Kill) Killer and visionary killers such as David Berkowitz (Son of Sam)?
Jennifer will explore the different categories, using case studies to illustrate.
She will also debunk common Serial Killer Myths – you may be surprised by what you learn!
Jennifer will discuss the typical differences between males and female serial killers, again, incorporating case studies to illustrate. You will also investigate the phenomenon of killer couples such as Fred and Rose West and The Moors Murderers Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, as well exploring the Folie à deux syndrome a.k.a ‘shared psychosis’. Why do women fall in love with known serial killers? Jennifer will discuss the clinical knowledge surrounding why serial killers gain admirers, fan mail, and even spouses in light of their atrocious crimes. Learn about Hybristophilia, and the astounding case of the Night Crawler’s trial.

What to expect from our Panto Panto is a fun, family-friendly theatre tradition in the UK, usually performed at Christmas. Based on fairy tales, it’s packed with comedy, music, and audience participation. Key Features:
The Dame – A comedic, larger-than-life character played by a man in exaggerated female costume and makeup, bringing slapstick and cheeky humour.
Audience participation – Classic shout-outs like “It’s behind you!” and “Oh no it isn’t!” keep the crowd involved.
Slapstick & Wordplay – Silly physical comedy, messy scenes, and jokes for both kids and innuendo for adults.
Modern References – Pop culture jokes and improvisation make each show unique.
Larger-Than-Life Characters – Expect a hero, a villain to boo, and a comedy sidekick.
Live on stage music – We pride ourselves on our highly professional actor-musician casting for all roles, meaning all cast members play an instrument on stage (as well as act, sing, and dance)
New writing – Each panto is brand new for us, it’s the classic fairy tale with a local spin.
Based in Elm Park and established in 1982, we continue to help performers aged 2 and upwards achieve their dreams within the Arts, offering classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Street, Gymnastic Dance & Musical Theatre. As well as taking part in regular exams, events and having just recently performed at Sadlers Wells Theatre in London. This year’s show will feature favourite movie classics from our pre-school Blythe Bear class all the way up to our past student group ‘Blythe Spirit’

All three events will be BSL interpreted, as will the evening performance of Handbagged later that day.

Be the first to watch this exclusive screening of an interview with acclaimed playwright Moira Buffini, hosted by Alex Thorpe. They’ll explore what it takes to craft a fiercely comic play, dive into Moira’s journey as a playwright, and discuss everything Handbagged. 4:00pm – 5:30pm: Page to Stage Workshop
Removing the mystery of taking Handbagged from the Page to the Stage. This practical workshop provides insight into the director’s vision in creating some of the production’s most exciting moments. It is facilitated by Chani Merrell, who will be joined by members of the acting company and technical staff.
From rehearsal techniques and investigation with the actors and stage management, weaving in lighting, sound and music, this session unpacks the immense amount of talented people it takes to bring this epic and satirical production to life.
There will also be a chance for you to put your questions to the company.

This highly entertaining production is presented by Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch and Theatre Nation Partnerships.
What people decide to get inked is often highly significant and personal. Tattoos can be decorative, commemorative, symbolic and transformational. Some stop at one or two – others curate an entire gallery on their skin. Inked is a bold new piece of theatre based on true stories. Director Lucy Pitman-Wallace has worked her way around Havering, interviewing those with tattoos and some of the incredible artists who create them. Together with writer Paul Dodgson, Lucy has shaped these authentic stories into a compelling script that promises to be fascinating, emotive and inspiring.
