Light Fantastic

Thirty years ago, childhood friends Rod and Iris played an ill-fated gig at their school science fair. Today their band is reuniting for a one-off anniversary extravaganza. Will their experiment succeed, or will uncontrolled variables force them to abandon their hypothesis?

A musical comedy about light, science and friendship for all ages, particularly aimed at 11-14 year olds.

Written and performed by award-winning science-singer-songwriter John Hinton, and award-winning comedian/performer Laura Mugridge. Directed by Kat Joyce.

This is the brand new show by Ensonglopedia, whose many previous Brighton Fringe hits include the Puddle at the End of the World and Ensonglopedia of Animals. The science is fact-checked by Diamond Light Source and Sussex University.

Dysbiosis

Dysbiosis is a bold new show and exhibition blending live performance, music, and striking visuals. It dives into how marginalised communities connect with nature in our fight for environmental justice. Shaped by the voices of LGBTQ+, working-class, and global majority Londoners, it asks: How do we live with nature?

With support from Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch, Dysbiosis is evolving through rehearsals, walks, and workshops, and this is your chance to see it take shape.

Dysbiosis is created by Daedalus, a queer-led theatre company from East London known for long-term projects that bring artists and communities together. Their past work includes Mobile Incitement, a gig theatre show about protest, and East, a storytelling project that shares food, songs, and tales.

Mark Watson: Before It Overtakes Us

20 years in stand-up for the Taskmaster cheeky texts icon, multi-award-winner, YouTube cult figure, Radio 4 favourite and recently ‘Baby Reindeer’ actor: Watson returns after seasons at the Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Edinburgh comedy festivals. A recent encounter with a stranger caused Mark to spend some time pondering the uncertain future facing humanity. He explores this – along with equally pressing matters like the worst word he has ever said in public, the current state of the UK sausage industry, and much more – in a typically frantic and fun-packed new show.
