Our House

Revolving around the music of the legendary ska band, Madness, and written by Tim Firth, (Calendar Girls), Our House is a very British musical.

Set in 1980s Camden Town, this hilarious and evocative musical tells the story of London boy, Joe Casey. The night of his sixteenth birthday sees him out on his first date with his dream girl, Sarah, but events end up far from the romantic night he’d imagined. Desperate to impress, he breaks into a new building development, overlooking his own home in Casey Street, to show Sarah the view over north London. When the police arrive he has to make a lightning decision. Does he stay and face the consequences, or does he run? It is at this point his life splits in two and we witness the fortunes, and misfortunes of Good Joe and Bad Joe.

As we watch the two parallel stories unfold and hurtle towards the explosive climax, we find out if that one quick decision of sixteen-year-old Joe changes his life and the lives of those around him. Does his choice lead him into a life of crime, or will he do the right thing? Does he turn his back on his home, family, the girl he loves and all that is dear to him, or will love, loyalty, and a sense of community win out?

Don’t miss this thumping good comedy musical, accompanied by all the iconic Madness tunes, (Embarrassment, Baggy Trousers, It Must Be Love, House of Fun, Driving in My Car, Night Boat to Cairo and many more classics). If you grew up to the soundtrack of Madness, and London life in the 1980s, it’ll be a nostalgic and heart-warming night out and a great show to share with friends.
