This is a captioned performance

During a Captioned Performance, a captioning screen displays the actors' words as they are spoken or sung, and provides information such as sound effects and music. These performances are beneficial for those who are Deaf and hard of hearing, or anyone that would like to read along whilst enjoying the performance.

This performance is dementia friendly

We work closely with people living with dementia, consulting them on the changes needed for the show and front of house environment. We consider everything from sound and lighting cues, stage action and seating plans, signage and refreshment service.

If the show is in the main house, we offer extra flexibility when booking seats, so if you know you need a little extra personal space you can request that the seat next to you remains unsold. A quiet space outside the auditorium is also available if you need some time away from the crowd.

This is a relaxed performance

❓Who may benefit from a Relaxed performance?
A relaxed performance is a specially adapted show, modified for adults and children who might benefit from a more relaxed environment. They primarily help people with autism, sensory communication disorders, or learning difficulties.

❓What makes a Relaxed Performance different?
- Bright lighting and loud noises are reduced.
- The lights in the theatre will remain on low throughout the show.
- A relaxed attitude to people moving around, leaving and returning.
- A relaxed attitude to people making noise during the show.
- An information pack will be sent in advance.
- A quiet space will be available if people need a break.
- You can ask to have empty seats around your booking.

If you have not visited us before, you can request a familiarisation visit. This is an opportunity to look around and get your bearings when the theatre is less busy.

This performance has sign language

BSL interpreted performances are specifically designed for d/Deaf and hard of hearing people that communicate using sign language. An interpreter will communicate the spoken, sung and heard elements of the performance by signing throughout the show.
