Tonight (Tuesday 14 April) 7-8pm Queen's Theatre Hornchurch will be holding their first Outer Limits Online session.   QTH artistic director Douglas Rintoul will be hosting and throwing a spotlight on the work of Southend based theatre company Old Trunk.

In light of the huge uncertainty around the short term impact of COVID-19, and with the production about to go into rehearsal, we've today taken the very painful decision to postpone the world premiere of 'Love Letters'.   The great news is that we're re-scheduling straight away, so you'll definitely get to see this brand new musical celebrating the very best of Essex before too long.

‎In light of the latest government advice about COVID-19, it is with huge sadness that we confirm that our world premiere co-production of 'Maggie May', which would have opened officially tonight (17 March), will no longer play remaining performances at Queen's Theatre Hornchurch. Further advice about performances at Leeds Playhouse and Leicester Curve will be confirmed by both venues in the coming days.

A call has gone out to all emerging and established live performance artists in Thurrock. The Outer Limits artist development programme is coming to the Thameside Theatre in Grays in May for a day of performance, expert industry advice and opportunities for performance creatives across Thurrock to meet and connect.

Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch is staging a brand new musical written and directed by Douglas Rintoul. Love Letters tells the story of an unposted love letter meant to be sent between a passionate young couple‎ dating, only to be delivered many years later.

Queen's Theatre Hornchurch have an amazing team running the Brentwood Half Marathon & Fun Run on Sunday 15 March all to raise vital funds for the theatre's Dementia Friendly shows including our next production Maggie May and foyer performances, Down Memory Lane. Dementia is one of the leading challenges facing older people and their families today and we understand the positive impact theatre can have on their lives in relieving stress and loneliness, stimulating cognitive function and the senses, regaining a sense of self and aid in the communication to carers and family members.

Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch is thrilled to announce that the first show of its Autumn 2020 season will be a revival of the National Theatre’s 2017 production of Beginning by David Eldridge. This will be the second play of David Eldridge’s produced by the Theatre, with 2019’s homecoming revival of In Basildon playing to national critical acclaim and opening the Theatre’s Essex On Stage initiative, an ambitious new two-year programme championing positive notions of Essex. Beginning will play at Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch from 4-19 September 2020.

Following the success of the Young Changemakers workshop for February 2019's DNA, the Young Changemakers are once again organising an extremely exciting opportunity for young people aged 18-25. The workshop day will take place on Saturday 22 February 3pm-7pm, and offers a unique behind the scenes insight into Queens Theatre Hornchurch's production of Macbeth, featuring a chance to meet director Douglas Rintoul.
